Did you use a quickstart package?
If yes, there seems to be a common problem with the new versions.

Can you check your database, if auto-increment is enabled?

Yes i did.
Ok. that does´nt sound good.
I have been working on the design for weeks, i would not be so happy to start all over again.
Yes it is turned on.
Do you have any suggestions what i can do?

Your design is not affected...
I've made a fresh 1.7 installation (NOT the quickstart package). That's more work, but everthing works fine.
Strange that it is turned on at your installation. Maybe it's a different problem, but your error message confirms a database error.
You should check the structure of 'khbti_extensions' if the option is enabled.

Would it help if i used the quickstart package for 1.5 instead?

Honestly, I don't know. I've not tried the 1.5 quickstart packages yet.
If you want to take your 1.7 template and install it on joomla!1.5, it will fail.

But you do know how to work with PHPMYADMIN, don't you?
It is essential that you know what you're doing when dealing with your database. Make a backup before you change anything.
I would do a complete new installation of Joomla! 1.7, and install all components and modules yourself. You can always look at your installation and copy your settings.

Now i got it to work, you were right the auto-increment was´nt enabled. Now i can install the plugins without any error.
The new problem is that i can´t see the installation when it says it is installed nothing comes up in modules.
Do you know what the problem could be?

Well, it's the same problem i had myself.
I decided to do a new installation, because i don't know what else is wrong with my installation. I've just tried to add some links and that broke my site completely.
Do yourself a favour, and make a clean start. I know this seems to be more work, but in the end everthing works fine.
I don't know what the guys at gavick say about the problem. Maybe you make a ticket request?!
