Pagination for larger categories

Hello - I'm seeing some odd results from the gk_news2/html/pagination.php on some of my categories.
If a category has more than about 8 pages, all I get for pagination is "start", "Prev", "3", "...", "next" and "end".
An example can be seen here: http://stnbeta.com/index.php/news/latest-news?start=56
After searching the forum I found the suggestion to rename the pagination.php file, but if I do that my pagination results are shown in a vertical column! That doesn't look good at all.
Any suggestions?

Please replace the pagination.php file with the one from the newest version of the template.
