Facebook like button not showing

When I set up my site I turned on the Facebook like button via the template editor and it worked fine - and then it suddenly disappeared from the front end for no apparent reason, and nothing I can do will get it back again! The Pinterest, Google + and Twitter buttons are all displaying fine but the Facebook one isn't.
