Top Search bar results issue

one of my colleges have noticed that if you use the top search bar in the header the results page gives large images and text, i have tried some overide.css tricks but it will not force it to a max size?

The side bar search module results are perfect so how can i make it do the same?

Is this run by a shortcode? in a page or module? i cannot seem to find it in the backend anywhere?
