Can Not Create Menu Item

Just installed Corporate 2 quickstart. Cannot Create a menu item. A little disappointed as this is my first Gavick theme and I signed up for the lifetime membership.

When I go to create a new menu item > Articles > Article Layout. Then the article popup box that normally appears is a full page and the articles are searchable and not click-able.

When I installed the quickstart, it wouldn't let me put in my own username and password for the admin. Not sure if that played a role in this, but would really appreciate a prompt reponse before I ask for a refund and use a different theme company.

And Now I can't select a module position from the drop down menu.

Is it a bad quickstart???
