The time has come for the release of version 3.9/2.16 of our Gavick framework. This update fixes several problems, adds improvements, and introduces a new feature. In the template settings under the ‘Features’ tab there is a new option to specify Touch device image.

Retirement of the deprecated Twitter API v1.0 is planned for May 7, 2013, which means that all Twitter features from Social GK5 v.1.0 will stop working on this day. One of the major features of this new API are authenticated requests to search.twitter.com. For this to work, the module configuration requires the setting of public and private keys generated on the twitter.com site in order to authorize your queries.

Today we released our Social GK5 v.1.1 module which makes use of the new Twitter 1.1 API and contains a few small fixes. As many of you know, Twitter published a long list of changes to its API, which is used by 3rd-party clients such as our Social GK5 extension. One of the most popular module types you will find amongst the pages of most Joomla! websites is the plain old default Custom HTML module. It is a very useful feature; with it, you can insert virtually any code you like, ranging from text or images to social media share buttons.

There is a problem that is common to certain WordPress plugins: some of them don’t properly store their post data. The plugin data specific to each post is stored in the Custom Post Fields, but without an underscore (“_”) at the beginning of the field name.
