A new version of our WordPress framework, MeetGavernWP v. 1.9.1, has been released. This update fixes some small issues and contains backend improvements connected with the visually-refreshed WordPress backend implemented in the new version 3.8 of WordPress.
Posts and easy management thereof are probably the most important things in WordPress. The typical WordPress post editor offer very limited options for manipulating posts. However, not everyone is aware that all of our WordPress themes have a very useful feature for post management.
Yesterday WordPres 3.8 RC1 has been released, so I expect to release the stable 3.8 version in a few days. This version brings several following features/modifications:
Menu is the basic navigation element of most websites. Therefore, in every CMS we may find some more and some less advanced the menu structure editor displayed on the page.
When you have decided to update your previous Joomla! Installation to the latest 3.2 release or just started with Joomla! 3.2, you may notice several more or less serious problems connected with this version.
The process of creating themes for WordPress and Joomla differs in many places, but there are many common features too. In this entry, we would like to present the differences between the key elements of templates architecture. It is worth noting that the comparisons are made with regards to “barebones” installations; please remember that most, if not all shortcomings of a given CMS may be reduced or removed entirely with the extensions available for the CMS.
Widgets from our themes always contain a few styles to choose from, but sometimes it’s insufficient for your needs and you would like to use a few styles at the same time, or perhaps use your own custom style.
Each CMS has a slightly different approach when it comes to determining the version name and the lifecycle of their releases.
Some WordPress plugins use custom post fields to store data associated with specific posts. This can be an issue for some users as the expected presentation of a post may be disrupted by these additions, however others may want this data to be visible to the readers. In this case, there is another big issue – standard custom fields’ labels contain numbers, underscores etc… so they aren’t visually appealing.
Today we’ve released a huge template update, namely Gavern 2.17/3.10. First of all, our products have been updated to the latest Joomla! version; 2.5.16 and 3.2. Joomla! 2.5.16 is just a security release and it is 100% safe to update your installation without updating the template, but in Joomla! 3.2 you may notice some issues.
